The site for this unbuilt 90 bed care home is located approximately one mile north-east of Fort William town centre on the Blar Mor. The site benefits from attractive open 360-degree views of the countryside, and on a clear day the summit of Ben Nevis can be seen to the south of the site.

The design was based on a courtyard design concept to provide an attractive sheltered and secure outdoor space for residents whilst also creating a variety of ‘wander routes’ for the residents.

The building was also designed to take full advantage of its setting with bright airy Day Rooms located at each corner. The positioning of these spaces with large glazed areas took advantage of the panoramic views whilst also providing ‘destinations’ and focal points along the internal ‘wander route’.
